What Do Tubular Heaters Power Ratings Mean?

Tubular heaters are resistant heaters encased in round tubes often shaped for specific applications.  The tube’s materials and casing protect the electric resistive heating elements inside the heater from damage and direct contact with fluids or other materials.  

The tubular element conducts heat effectively from the resistive elements to the air or other material surrounding the tubular casing.

This effective transfer of heat without air contacting the surface of the resistive wire allows the heating element to operate at a fixed power output without burning the resistive elements; as a result, no oxidation takes place, and the voltage and current are isolated the surface of the casing.

Numerous considerations go into electrical control panel design.  The environmental conditions at the installation site are one of the most critical issues.

There are many variables to consider when choosing the cabinet itself.  Standards associations provide guidelines for cabinet ratings and control design. 

One of the significant considerations for electrical panels is the dissipation of heat from electronic components and wiring.  If you aren’t familiar with industrial thermal control, a good example is a laptop computer.  With most brands, you will feel the battery’s heat and more so if it is plugged into the charger.

The process is complicated, and most of us don’t even think about how medical tests in normal conditions. Conditions are not typical, and it won’t be for some time. COVID testing is on the news every hour of every day, making sure everyone is wondering about testing.

Who Regulates Testing?

The Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control, and the Department of Health & Human Services are all involved in the regulations, approvals, and processes for COVID testing. It is complicated, especially since testing needed to expand quickly, safely, and accurately.  

Of course, there are also state, local, and tribal governments involved to execute the guidance of the Federal Government Agencies! Then hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and in some cases, local pharmacies. What could go wrong?

There is a “Testing Blueprint” written by the FDA and CDC titled “Opening up America Again” and published by the Whitehouse with guidance for testing plans and rapid response plans.  

The bottom of the ocean, on top of the highest mountain, or Minnesota in the winter, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems must be designed with local conditions in mind.  The Internet of Things, IoT, begins to touch all of our lives it is easier to understand the purpose of industrial SCDA systems.
